I wish I could say I have been closely scrutinizing the stuff that has been flying around the news lately, but I haven't.
Personally, I agree that they provide a valuable service and work in a lot of service-oriented or labor-intensive jobs that many Americans are not able/willing to do. For that reason, I don't mind them being in the country.
I don't, however, think they should have tax-free access to all of our public services, which I am afraid is what is happening. They also send BILLIONS of dollars back into Mexico, so it is difficult to agree that they help our economy. They are not spending their money here.
I am not opposed to registering them and requiring that they pay some taxes and/or social security, but I don't think that's going to solve the problem. Those that would register would probably be the same ones who would obtain a VISA and come into the country legally.
I think we need to find out where they are working illegally and then go after the companies that hire them without them being registered.
Then, however, if you get into the deportation issue, you have the problem of children born in this country who ARE technically US citizens.
YIKES...I think all I've said is I have no idea what's going on. Bring 'em in so we can win them for Christ...that's what I say!

we need to earn our citizenship, and they also won't and don't pay taxes...
